Bisnow Evolution of Downtown Los Angeles Recap
As downtown Los Angeles continues to evolve, developers are taking unique approaches to help attract a growing population. Polaris Pacific’s Los Angeles Vice President and Regional Manager Mike Akerly joined industry experts at Bisnow’s Neighborhood Series: Evolution of Downtown to discuss the downtown community’s revival and the contributing factors required to stabilize a flourishing live, work, play community.
In an effort to support the neighborhood’s revival, several developers are building properties that incorporate urban trends, ride-sharing, walkability and experiential real estate. Certain projects even go as far as reducing the number of parking spaces to encourage walkability, public transportation and eliminate traffic congestion. Additionally, while developers are building neighborhoods for the future, many are also focused on giving back to the community through back-to-school programs or housing initiatives for downtown’s homeless community.
