Twisting Tower In White Curtain Walling is the Latest Addition by Studio Gang to the San Francisco Skyline

Designed by Studio Gang, MIRA features a twisting façade containings luxury condominium homes in San Francisco. Located where SoMa meets the Embarcadero, the project includes a 40-floor luxury tower of residences topped by penthouse homes.

Amenities are numerous and include; a courtyard, rooftop deck, private dining and lounge, a fitness center, children’s playroom, conference room, dog washing station, valet parking for 340 cars with electric vehicle charging stations, parking for 150 bicycles, and over 10,000 square feet of retail amenity at the street level.

The modular façade system is made up of a series of units that repeat every 11 floors. The white curtain walling, adapted from the aerospace industry, gives a distinctive look to the twisting form that now stands on the San Francisco skyline. In addition to the twisting formation, homage is paid to the classic bay windows the city is known for with the inclusion of protruding window volumes.

Says Jeanne Gang of Studio Gang: ‘Reinterpreting the classic bay windows of San Francisco, our design amplified the dynamic quality of the neighourhood. Spiralling all the way up this 400-foot tower, bay windows create unique spaces in every residence that offer fresh air, expansive views, and changing qualities of light throughout the day.’
