One Steuart Lane will rank among the most celebrated buildings on the West Coast.
A luxury condominium currently under construction at One Steuart Lane in San Francisco will likely be the last of its kind as it is situated directly along San Francisco’s waterfront. The 20-story building will have 120 residences and is expected to be completed in early 2021.
“One Steuart Lane represents an opportunity that will likely never again exist in San Francisco,” says Ben Kochalski, Principal, The John Buck Company, a Chicago-based commercial and residential real estate investment, development and operating company that is developing the property. “It offers a world-class urban lifestyle for buyers who seek a private sanctuary but still desire a connection to the heart of the city.”
Designed by world-renowned architecture firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, One Steuart Lane will rank among the most celebrated architecturally significant buildings on the West Coast. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill worked with Rottet Studio to create a design that offers an indoor-outdoor lifestyle.
“One Steuart Lane’s ambition is to match the best site on the West Coast with truly world class architecture,” says Mark Schwettmann, Design Director of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in San Francisco. “The building connects owners visually and literally with the extraordinary natural and urban beauty of San Francisco.”
The project is being developed at a time when demand for upscale housing in San Francisco is on the rise. Indeed, the city is known for having a tight housing market, especially at the higher end, and a limited inventory of luxury residences are expected to hit the market in the coming years. The San Francisco market has proven ready for a building of this caliber right now as tech titans open new offices in the city.
One Steuart Lane’s 120 residences will feature sprawling terraces and floor-to ceiling windows framing unobstructed views of the Bay Bridge. The building will comprise one to three bedroom floor plans as well as penthouse residences that will range in size from approximately 900 to 3,100 square feet.
Each residence will feature floor-to-ceiling windows with elevated ceiling heights displaying extraordinary natural light, along with private balconies or terraces, many of which will offer direct, unobstructed views of the Bay Bridge and Ferry Building.
The building will offer its residents a host of amenities and services, including a residents’ lounge with a full kitchen, and dining and outdoor gathering spaces. There will also be a private fitness center, a spa with water therapy showers and sauna, and an outdoor Jacuzzi that will be surrounded by a sun terrace. The building will be staffed by 24-hour lobby and valet attendants.
Targeting LEED® Gold certification, One Steuart Lane will boast a minimally reflective, ultra-clear glass facade that will take advantage of the abundant sunlight and cool ambient climate in San Francisco to passively heat the residences and reduce energy consumption.
In addition to the 120 residences, the building will also offer a 4,500-square-foot retail space.
The development is located on the corner of Howard and Steuart Streets, and is on the waterfront and adjacent to Rincon Park, a short walk from San Francisco’s financial, recreational and cultural centers. Residents will enjoy easy access to restaurants, retail and entertainment options, as well as a wide network of transit options, including San Francisco’s Ferry Terminal, the new Transbay Terminal, BART and the I-80 East Freeway.
One Steuart Lane will be operated and managed by Paramount Group, Inc., a New York-based real estate management company. SRE Group Ltd., a real estate investment company, listed on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, is an investor in the project.
The sales gallery is expected to open in 2020 and sales are being led by leading West Coast condominium sales and marketing company Polaris Pacific. For more information, visit One Steuart Lane.
